Saif Ali Khan reveals Jr NTR and Koratala Siva cast him Devara: Part 1 after watching Omkara: “I am glad that they wanted me in it”

Eighteen years after its release, the critically acclaimed film “Omkara” continues to open doors for Saif Ali Khan. At the recent trailer launch of the Telugu action drama Devara: Part 1, the actor revealed that the film’s actor and director, Jr NTR and Koratala Siva, had been inspired by his performance in Omkara and sought him out for the role.

” I am glad that Tarak ji wanted me in it and Siva sir wanted me in it.'” Saif shared at the Mumbai event. ” I think they’d seen Omkara and remembered it. I should thank Vishal ji still.”

Saif’s character in Devara: Part 1, Bhaira, is a complex and multifaceted individual. ” It’s a very interesting character,” he explained. ” Because there’s a young version, there’s an older version, there’s crazy make-up. Also, it’s more like an anti-hero than a straight antagonist. There are many layers to it.”

Devara: Part 1 marks Saif’s debut in Telugu cinema, and he expressed his admiration for the industry. The trailer provided a glimpse into Saif’s role in the film, showcasing his rugged appearance and intense confrontation with Jr NTR. Alongside Saif and Jr NTR, the film also features Janhvi Kapoor, making her Telugu debut as well. Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara: Part 1 is a two-part epic produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, and presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram.
