The celebrated director and producer recently took to his Instagram Stories to share a tongue-in-cheek revelation about his relationship status. “I am dating Instagram!” he wrote, adding a playful twist to his statement by explaining how the platform “listens to me, makes me follow my dreams, and even pays some bills!” Johar’s lighthearted post instantly struck a chord with fans and offered a glimpse into his personal musings.

This isn’t the first time Karan Johar has addressed his relationship status with humor and candor. Last year, during Diwali, he shared a heartfelt note about feeling lonely despite the festivities. “Diwali ki raate, itni mulakaate, itni saari baatein, bheed mein fir bhi tanhai, single status se kab hogi judaai,” he wrote, reflecting on the solitude he feels amid social gatherings. The post resonated with many who have experienced similar feelings of loneliness despite being surrounded by people.

While Johar’s relationship with Instagram may be a lighthearted joke, his professional commitments are anything but. Recently, Karan Johar made an appearance at the Ajio Luxe Wkend gala in Mumbai, where his sartorial choices once again turned heads. Dressed in an all-white ensemble featuring a satin shirt, trousers, and a trench blazer, Johar accessorized with a diamond necklace and an emerald brooch, perfectly embodying the event’s theme, The Gilded Hour.

The filmmaker is set to direct an untitled Netflix series, with production expected to begin soon. His last directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), received critical acclaim and commercial success. Beyond directing, Johar continues to produce a slate of films, including Kill, Yodha, Mr & Mrs Mahi, Jigra, and the upcoming Tu Meri Main Tera, starring Kartik Aaryan.
