The much-anticipated Rajinikanth starrer Coolie finally has a release date! The makers announced on Friday, April 4, that the film will hit screens worldwide on August 14, 2024. Sun Pictures, the production house behind the project, took to social media to unveil a striking new poster featuring the legendary superstar in an intense and rugged avatar.

The recently released poster showcases Rajinikanth in a fierce, battle-ready look, exuding raw intensity. With dark tones, blood splatters, and a powerful expression, the image hints at a gripping, action-packed narrative that will bring out the best of the superstar’s screen presence. Accompanying the poster, they wrote, “Sound-ah yethu! ?? Deva Varraaru?? #Coolie worldwide from August 14th ??”


Coolie: A Lokesh Kanagaraj action spectacle

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for his high-octane action films like Vikram and Leo, Coolie promises to be a mass entertainer packed with stylish action sequences, a gripping storyline, and a power-packed performance from Rajinikanth.

Backed by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures, the film boasts an ensemble cast featuring Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, and Monisha Blessy. With Girish Gangadharan handling cinematography, Philomin Raj as the editor, and music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, expectations are sky-high.

While this news thrilled Rajinikanth’s massive fanbase, it also sparked discussions about a blockbuster box office clash. Coolie is set to release on the same day as War 2, the next big instalment in Yash Raj Films’ spy universe, starring Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani, and Jr NTR.
