Senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and global icon Priyanka Chopra shared a warm reunion at the annual Harvard India Conference 2026, more than a decade after they last met, delighting followers with their mutual admiration on social media.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Tharoor posted a series of pictures from their backstage meeting at Harvard University in the United States, just ahead of Priyanka’s appearance as the closing keynote speaker. The images captured candid moments of the two catching up in the wings before taking to the stage.

“Caught up with @priyankachopra (after more than a decade) in the wings at @Harvard backstage, just before her appearance as the closing keynote of the @HarvardIndConf,” Tharoor wrote.

Praising the actor’s global achievements, he added, “Remarkable to see (and hear) how well she is doing! She has made India proud by conquering a stage on which Indians rarely get to appear. And of course she looks stunning, appears perfectly poised and sounds thoughtful and wise — what’s not to be proud of?! (That’s my aide Narayan in the second pic, looking pleased as Punch!).”

The exchange quickly drew attention online, with many applauding the cordial interaction between the senior politician and the internationally acclaimed actor.

Priyanka Chopra, who has successfully transitioned from Bollywood to Hollywood and established herself as a global star, responded warmly to Tharoor’s post. Expressing gratitude for his presence at her panel, she wrote, “It was so good to see you again @ShashiTharoor Sir. Have always had such admiration for the orator that you are but as well for your clap backs,. thank you so much for staying for my panel and your wisdom. Hope you feel better soon and our paths cross again.”

The Harvard India Conference 2026, organised by students at Harvard University, was held on February 14 and 15. The annual conference on Indian business, policy and culture aims to serve as a platform to discuss India’s rich diversity and reflect its growing role as a key global player.
