Aditya Dhar pens emotional birthday note while finishing Dhurandhar: The Revenge, thanks fans for love and ‘peak detailing’ memes
Filmmaker Aditya Dhar recently shared a heartfelt message on social media after receiving an outpouring of love and appreciation from colleagues, fans, and followers for his work on the spy actioner Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh in the lead. The director, who celebrated his birthday while working on the sequel, reflected on the journey of the past year and thanked audiences for their continued faith in his storytelling.
Taking to Instagram, Dhar penned a deeply emotional note while adding the final touches to the upcoming sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge. In his message, the filmmaker expressed gratitude for the support he has received and acknowledged the appreciation for the detailing in his work. “As I spend my birthday adding the final touches on Dhurandhar – The Revenge, I find myself pausing for a moment and looking back at the phenomenal year that has gone by. Sitting here today, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. For the journey. For the team who has always walked besides me. And for the faith so many of you have shown in my work over the years”, he wrote.
He went on continue, “Reading all your messages, tweets, stories and all the ‘peak detailing by Aditya Dhar’ memes, my heart is full. I wish I could personally respond to each one of you, but please know how deeply I value all your love and encouragement. I truly feel blessed beyond belief. None of this is something I take for granted. In an industry where nothing is guaranteed and every film is a leap of faith, the trust of the audience means everything”.

“If this year has taught me anything, it is that never lose belief in your dreams, however big they might be. Show up with honesty. Give your work everything you have. And the universe will respond. The note comes months after the release of Dhurandhar, which hit theatres in December 2025 and went on to emerge as one of the biggest global successes for an Indian spy thriller. The film starred Ranveer Singh as Hamza Ali Mazari, an Indian RAW agent operating undercover, and featured a powerful ensemble including R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Akshaye Khanna.
With anticipation building, the franchise will soon continue with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is scheduled to release in cinemas on March 19, 2026, across multiple languages. The sequel is expected to expand the high-stakes espionage narrative while bringing back several key characters from the original film.
