Movie buffs across the world were saddened on the afternoon of April 12 as news broke that legendary singer Asha Bhosle had passed away. The same evening, the ‘Karan Aujla P-Pop Culture India Tour’ took place at Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai. As expected, Karan Aujla spoke about Asha at the concert.

Karan adored Asha Bhosle not just for her legendary singing career but also because of a certain episode which took place in December 2024. While performing in Dubai, the singer, then 91, sang ‘Tauba Tauba’, Karan Aujla’s cult song from Bad Newz (2024). She recreated the song’s signature hook step, popularized by actor Vicky Kaushal. The video of the performance went viral in no time.

Karan Aujla was overwhelmed by Asha Bhosle’s gesture. He called Asha a “living Goddess of music” and said he felt surreal having his song performed by such an icon.

At the April 12 concert, held by Team Innovation, Karan Aujla asked fans to observe a minute of silence. Pictures of Asha Bhosle were displayed on screen with the instrumental version of the song ‘Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani’ from The Great Gambler (1979) playing in the background. After a minute of mourning, the video of Asha Bhosle performing to ‘Tauba Tauba’ was shown on the screen. Teary-eyed viewers suddenly had smiles on their faces as they watched Asha sing and even dance to the hit track in an adorable manner.

Asha Bhosle was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday, April 11, following exhaustion and a chest infection. She was 92.

Another major event in Mumbai on April 12 was the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Here, too, the singer was shown on the screen as a mark of tribute.

Ivy Entertainment drags co-producer of Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab to Delhi High Court over alleged contractual breaches: Report

Delhi-based Ivy Entertainment, a subsidiary of Ivy Holdings, has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against Hyderabad-based People Media Factory Pvt Ltd (PMF), the co-producers of the much-awaited Pan-India film,  The Raja Saab , as per an article in The Economic Times. The company is seeking a permanent injunction over what it claims are serious breaches of contractual obligations. In its plea, Ivy Entertainment alleged that PMF failed to fulfil several critical commitments, including completing and releasing the film within the agreed timeline, providing monthly production updates, disclosing how funds were being utilized, delivering agreed materials related to the film, and postponing the theatrical release multiple times without justification. The company claims that these breaches triggered termination clauses in the agreements, prompting it to demand a refund of Rs. 218 crores invested in the project, along with 18% annual interest.
