Rajinikanth starrer Jailer 2 hit by piracy scare? Leaked set video goes viral after Jana Nayagan controversy

After the recent piracy concerns surrounding Thalapathy Vijay starrer Jana Nayagan, another highly anticipated Tamil biggie has now found itself in the middle of a leak controversy. Rajinikanth starrer Jailer 2, one of the most awaited upcoming films from the South superstar, has reportedly been affected after unauthorized footage began circulating on social media platforms.

According to reports, clips and sequences linked to the film surfaced online, sparking concern among fans and the makers alike. The alleged leak comes well before the film’s theatrical release, raising fresh questions around content security for major film productions.

Responding to the issue, production house Sun Pictures released an official statement, as reported by Deccan Chronicle. The statement clarified that a video clip from the sets of Jailer 2 was being shared online and that immediate steps were being taken to address the matter. “We would like to bring to your attention that a Video clip from the sets of ‘Jailer 2’ is currently being circulated on social media platforms. Our anti-piracy team is actively monitoring the situation and will be taking necessary action to remove such content, including initiating measures against accounts involved in sharing or promoting these clips”.

The makers also urged media outlets and fan clubs not to amplify the leaked material further. “We kindly request members of the media and fans club to refrain from using, sharing, or reposting this video, in order to avoid any potential suspension or restrictions on their accounts. Please note that the production will not be held responsible for any such actions taken or to retrieve the accounts”, it added.

Interestingly, the incident comes in the same month as the reported Jana Nayagan leak controversy, making piracy and unauthorized content circulation a growing concern in the industry.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer. The upcoming Tamil-language action-comedy is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner. Rajinikanth returns in the lead role, reprising his much-loved character from the first film.

The ensemble cast includes S. J. Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, Anna Rajan, Jatin Sarna, and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film is also expected to feature special cameo appearances by Mithun Chakraborty and Vijay Sethupathi, adding to the excitement around the sequel.

Despite the leak controversy, anticipation for Jailer 2 remains sky-high, with fans eagerly awaiting Rajinikanth’s return to one of his recent blockbuster franchises.
