Zanai Bhosle pens heart-wrenching tribute to grandmother Asha Bhosle: “I have lost the love of my life”
Zanai Bhosle shared a heartfelt tribute to her grandmother Asha Bhosle two days after the legendary singer passed away at the age of 92. Asha Bhosle died on April 12 at Breach Candy Hospital following reported multiple-organ failure.
On April 14, Zanai took to social media to post a throwback video featuring a behind-the-scenes moment with her grandmother, believed to be from rehearsals before an event. Along with the video, she shared a deeply personal note describing the loss as life-altering.
“As I wake up this morning, I realise I have lost my partner in crime, my bestfriend, a person who completed my entire world and the first person to hold me when I was born,” she wrote.
“Who am I supposed to wake up and have chai with?”
In her message, Zanai reflected on the everyday routines she shared with her grandmother and the emotional space the singer occupied in her life. “What do I do now? Who am I supposed to wake up and give a hug to in the morning and have chai with? Who’s going to be waiting for me everyday when I come home or who am I supposed to crack lame jokes with,” she wrote.
She also urged fans and admirers to remember Asha Bhosle for the joy she brought to people’s lives. “These are just a few things to remember her by, but to all those who have felt this loss with me, remember that she was and is the definition of LIFE and LAUGHTER, so if you have to remember her only remember her that way.”

Zanai described her grandmother as the most important emotional presence in her life and said she continues to feel connected to her even after her passing. “She’s looking down on us all, especially her family and I believe she’s going to comeback to me very soon, because that is what she promised me and told me always.”
Calling the loss deeply personal, she added, “I have lost the love of my life and there is no bigger grief in the world so I urge you guys to live life to your fullest and celebrate her that way and celebrate her life.”

She concluded her note with a message addressed directly to her grandmother: “I love you ashaai, and goodbye for now my love.. I know you are always going to be with me no matter what, just waiting for you to come back to me and hug me once again.”
Zanai also mentioned that the video she shared captured a private running joke between the two that they often repeated at events together, offering a glimpse into their close bond.
