The makers of Peddi have intensified excitement around the film by unveiling Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar as Gournaidu, just days ahead of the trailer launch. Headlined by Ram Charan, the film is among the most anticipated Indian releases of 2026 and has consistently remained in the spotlight ever since its announcement.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and backed by Vriddhi Cinemas in association with Mythri Movie Makers, Peddi also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu and Divyendu Sharma in pivotal roles.

Taking to social media, the makers shared a behind-the-scenes video introducing Shiva Rajkumar’s character Gournaidu. The clip offered a rugged and intense glimpse into the film’s world while simultaneously building anticipation for the trailer, which is slated to release on May 18. Sharing the video online, the makers wrote, “Gournaidu a.k.a @nimmashivarajkumar garu. Step into the raw world of #PEDDI #PEDDITrailer in 4 days. Peddi in cinemas worldwide on 4th June. #GetReadyForPeddi.”

From the teaser to tracks like ‘Chikiri Chikiri’ and ‘Rai Rai Raa Raa’, the makers have steadily expanded the film’s universe through content-driven promotions. The posters and character reveals have further contributed to the growing curiosity among audiences across languages.

Industry watchers have also noted the scale and positioning of the project, especially with Ram Charan leading the cast following his global recognition in recent years. The addition of Shiva Rajkumar has only amplified interest, particularly among South Indian cinema audiences.

Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, Peddi is scheduled to premiere globally on June 3, 2026, before releasing theatrically worldwide on June 4, 2026. The film will also be distributed in North India by Jio Studios following the success of films like Dhurandhar and Raja Shivaji.

Ivy Entertainment drags co-producer of Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab to Delhi High Court over alleged contractual breaches: Report

Delhi-based Ivy Entertainment, a subsidiary of Ivy Holdings, has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against Hyderabad-based People Media Factory Pvt Ltd (PMF), the co-producers of the much-awaited Pan-India film,  The Raja Saab , as per an article in The Economic Times. The company is seeking a permanent injunction over what it claims are serious breaches of contractual obligations. In its plea, Ivy Entertainment alleged that PMF failed to fulfil several critical commitments, including completing and releasing the film within the agreed timeline, providing monthly production updates, disclosing how funds were being utilized, delivering agreed materials related to the film, and postponing the theatrical release multiple times without justification. The company claims that these breaches triggered termination clauses in the agreements, prompting it to demand a refund of Rs. 218 crores invested in the project, along with 18% annual interest.
