In a seismic shift for the music ecosystem across the Indian subcontinent, India’s own Silicon Valley Bengaluru is poised to embark on the maiden voyage of BookMyShow’s newest Intellectual Property (IP) — Bandland. This electrifying fusion of India’s rich cultural tapestry with the pulsating rhythms of the city’s illustrious music scene marks a significant milestone as it rekindles the legacy of the country’s original rock music capital. Bandland produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment experiential division of BookMyShow, promises to celebrate music that is loved across the globe along with some of the most iconic as also upcoming artists from across India and the world over, elevate the music festival experience to unprecedented heights, revitalise and capture the city and its glorious music landscape on a larger scale. A two-day musical and cultural extravaganza, Bandland will be held on December 16th and 17th, 2023 at the Embassy International Riding School Ground, Bengaluru.

Bandland in the city is set to uplift local art and culture, provide an unforgettable experience for music enthusiasts, pay homage to the country’s OG music capital and rekindle the spark that once defined the city’s music scene connecting them with the thriving community of India’s rock capital. The inaugural edition unveiled an impressive line-up, featuring a constellation of 12 international and homegrown indie-rock luminaries. Legendary British rock band Deep Purple and American rock icons Goo Goo Dolls are set to headline the festival, known for their unforgettable hits like ‘Smoke on the Water’ and ‘Iris’, respectively. Sharing the stage with these headliners are American indie rockers The War on Drugs, perfect for fans of Bruce Springsteen and Pink Floyd and Australian punks Amyl and The Sniffers, who will make their exciting debut in India.

Homegrown musicians and bands on the roster for the two days include notable names from the Indian music ecosystem such as Parikrama, one of India’s oldest bands known for their signature classical rock fusion and Thermal and a Quarter (TAAQ), both of who join Deep Purple for the second time in the country after their supporting act with the band in 1994 and 2001, respectively. The lineup is rounded up by next-gen bands, Parvaaz, The F16s, Aswekeepsearching, Skrat, Pacifist and The Earth Below.

From warm winter afternoons to golden sunsets, the festival will feature an eclectic mix of performances across multiple stages, ensuring there’s something for every music aficionado. Over the two days, attendees can soak in vibrant art installations inspired by the city and the beauty of its music, tantalize their taste buds with an array of delectable fusion cuisines and enjoy the unique mixology under Bengaluru’s breezy skies.
