Main Vaapas Aaunga continues to deliver a rare and highly encouraging box office trend. After showing strong growth in its second week at the all-India level, the film has now recorded a similar jump in India’s two biggest national multiplex chains: PVR INOX and Cinepolis. In Week 1, Main Vaapas Aaunga collected Rs. 6.69 crores from PVR INOX and Rs. 1.84 crores from Cinepolis, taking the combined total from the two chains to Rs. 8.53 crores. However, in Week 2, the film did not slow down. Instead, it grew substantially, collecting Rs. 12.21 crores from PVR INOX and Rs. 3.98 crores from Cinepolis. The combined Week 2 total from these two chains stands at Rs. 16.19 crores. This means that the film’s Week 2 collections in PVR INOX and Cinepolis were nearly 190% of Week 1. On its third Friday, the film collected Rs. 2.80 crores, which is higher than both its first Friday and second Friday collections. The trend is extraordinary because most films witness a sharp drop by the time they enter the third week. In the case of Main Vaapas Aaunga , however, the opposite has happened. As per an IANS report, a Bench comprising Justices B.V. Nagarathna and Joymalya Bagchi on Thursday allowed the actor to withdraw her petition after the matter was taken up for hearing.
