Mahima Chaudhary recalls convincing Hina Khan to stay in India for Cancer treatment; says, “The medicine is the same whether you swallow it here, or you swallow it in America”

Hina Khan has expressed her gratitude to Mahima Chaudhry, a fellow cancer survivor, throughout her cancer journey. In her Instagram posts, Hina shared that Mahima was the first person to support her after her breast cancer diagnosis and even surprised her during her first chemotherapy session. Recently, the veteran actress discussed her connection with Hina and revealed that she encouraged her to pursue treatment in India.

In an interview with India Today, Mahima reflected on her meeting with Hina and said, “I met Hina, very casually at a party, and we were in touch.” She further revealed, “But, the first person she called after diagnosis was me. She said, ‘I have booked myself, and I am going to America and I am doing this and that.’ I said, ‘That’s exactly how I felt. But, you will be on your own (in America). And it’s a very very tough treatment.’”

Mahima further added, “Like when you are going through the treatment, it’s horrid. I said, ‘Do it in Bombay’. Use the same doctors because the medicine is the same whether you swallow it here, or you swallow it in America. The doctor there will also be an Indian. In fact, if you will see some American doctor treating you, you will feel like, ‘Can’t I have an Indian doctor treating me?’ You will not have the trust. But, here you will.”

Mahima provided evidence for her assertions and stated, “During COVID, when people were having paracetamol there (America), we were also having it here. When the treatment is the same across the world, why not do it in your home country? She couldn’t thank me enough.” She added, “When you share your sorrow, the bonding hits different. Just like how we gather for celebrations, we should also gather when someone is battling something. It motivates them.”

On the work front, Mahima Chaudhry is looking forward to the release of two of her films, Signature and Emergency.
