Rajinikanth gets hospitalized; wife Latha assures ‘all is well’

Being one of the most respected stars in the Indian Film Industry and fondly known as ‘Thalaivar’, Tamil megastar Rajinikanth is all set to return to cinemas with Vettaiyan. While loyal fans of the beloved actor were excited to see him, there were in for some sad news when buzz about the actor being hospitalized started doing the rounds. Recent reports suggest that Rajinikanth complained of stomach pain and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai on Monday.

Although not a lot of details have been revealed, we hear that the actor decided to undergo surgery – an elective one (where a patient gets to choose opt for the procedure as per their convenience) on Tuesday, October 1. However, reassuring concerned fans, Rajinkanth’s wife Latha told CNN-News18, “All is well.”

Meanwhile, his concerned friends and fans continued to share their best wishes and wishing him a speedy recovery by taking to social media and sharing their love for the star. Among them was Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin who wrote in Tamil, “I wish my friend Mr. Rajinikanth, who is hospitalized, a speedy recovery”.


Actor-politician R Sarathkumar also shared a tweet on the social media platform X, aka Twitter saying, “I wish my dear friend Mr. Rajinikanth, who has been admitted to the hospital due to sudden illness, to get well soon. I pray that he may resume all his duties with full vigor and health soon”.


Coming to the work commitments, Rajinikanth is gearing up for the release of his highly-awaited film Vettaiyan which also stars Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, among others along with a cameo of Amitabh Bachchan. It is slated to release on October 11. As of now, the megastar was shooting for Lokesh Kangaraj’s Coolie which will also star Shruti Haasan and Nagarjuna in key roles.
