Producer Boney Kapoor recently opened up about his younger days and shared insights into his brother Anil Kapoor’s early struggles in the film industry. Speaking about Anil’s dedication and passion for acting, Boney revealed quirky and inspiring anecdotes that highlight the veteran actor’s determination to succeed.

Skipping Baths for Stardom

In an interview with ABP, Boney Kapoor recalled a time when Anil Kapoor refrained from bathing for 2-3 days after shooting his first film. “Anil always wanted to become an actor. When he was in school, he played the child version of Shashi Kapoor. He was so passionate that he didn’t bathe for 2-3 days because he didn’t want the makeup to come off. He wanted everyone to know he had become an actor,” shared Boney.

Struggles and Hard Work

Boney Kapoor further revealed that Anil’s path to success was anything but easy. “He struggled a lot. He played a role in Ek Baar Kaho as the sidekick of the second hero. He also worked in Telugu and Kannada films and starred in Mani Ratnam’s first film. During one Ramesh Sippy film, Anil shaved his entire chest hair to look like a 16-year-old,” he said.

Anil’s determination also extended to physical transformations. “He would do pull-ups regularly to increase his height,” added Boney.

A Stellar Career Spanning Over Four Decades

Anil Kapoor, who debuted in films in the late 1970s, has now been part of the industry for nearly 45 years. The actor was last seen in two films of 2024, Fighter and Savi. Up next, he will star in Amazon Prime Video’s Subedaar, where he plays the lead role alongside Radhika Madan, who portrays his daughter.
