The biographical drama — which premiered on Netflix on April 12, 2024 — stands tall as the only Indian title shortlisted this year, spotlighting the increasing global resonance of authentic Indian stories.
Diljit Dosanjh, nominated in the category of Best Performance by an Actor, arrived on the red carpet alongside filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, whose direction and screenplay brought the turbulent life of Punjabi folk sensation Amar Singh Chamkila to the screen with depth and sensitivity.
