Sunny and Bobby Deol, Salman Khan, Rekha, Jeetendra, and other celebs join Ikkis screening ahead of January 1 release

A star-studded ensemble from the Hindi film industry gathered in Mumbai on December 29, 2025 for a special screening of Ikkis, the forthcoming war drama directed by Sriram Raghavan that marks the final on-screen appearance of legendary actor Dharmendra. Celebrities and film families attended in large numbers, making the event both a high-profile industry moment and an emotional tribute to the late actor’s legacy.

The evening brought together some of Bollywood’s most recognised faces. Salman Khan — a longtime friend of Dharmendra — was seen paying homage at the event, appearing visibly moved as he paused beside a poster of the late star. Veteran actress Rekha stole the spotlight with a heartfelt moment, blowing a kiss to Ikkis lead Agastya Nanda’s poster.

Members of the Deol family — Dharmendra’s sons Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and nephew Abhay Deol — were among the attendees. Sunny was seen standing beside his father’s photo, while Bobby was reportedly overcome with emotion after watching his late father’s performance in the film.

The red carpet also showcased a blend of veteran icons and contemporary stars. Jeetendra, Tabu, Vijay Varma, Ameesha Patel, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh, Tiger Shroff, Fardeen Khan,, Randeep Hooda, Jaya Prada and Arjun Kapoor joined the gathering, alongside actors Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah with their son Vivaan Shah. Among the supporters were also Manish Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and others from the industry.

A separate screening earlier in New Delhi underscored the film’s national importance, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of the Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi attending alongside army personnel and families of real-life war heroes portrayed in the film. At that event, Nanda spoke about the film’s tribute to India’s armed forces and the sacrifices they make.

The emotional resonance of the screening came from the dual nature of the film event — both a celebration of a new generation of talent and a tribute to the enduring legacy of a cinema great. With its January 1, 2026 theatrical release date approaching, Ikkis is expected to generate widespread interest among audiences seeking a patriotic cinematic experience.
