Shah Rukh Khan calls Rani Mukerji “feisty, strong and compassionate” in shoutout note for Mardaani 3
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has extended warm wishes to his longtime friend and colleague Rani Mukerji on the theatrical release of Mardaani 3, praising her strength and commitment both on and off screen. The action thriller, which opened in cinemas on Friday, sees Mukerji reprise her role as ACP Shivani Shivaji Roy in the third instalment of the popular franchise.

Taking to his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Khan shared a personalised message for Mukerji ahead of the film’s release: “Just from the heart… to my Rani ‘Mardaani’ all my best wishes. I am sure you will be feisty, strong & compassionate in Mardaani 3 like u are in the real world too.”

The role of ACP Shivani has become one of Mukerji’s most recognisable characters since the first Mardaani film debuted in 2014, followed by Mardaani 2 in 2019. In Mardaani 3, the narrative once again places the determined police officer at the centre of a high-stakes investigation into a widespread human trafficking network, with Janki Bodiwala, Mallika Prasad and Jisshu Sengupta in supporting roles.
Meanwhile, women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana also gave a shoutout to the film and its underlying message. Sharing her thoughts on Instagram Stories, Mandhana reflected on the need for collective responsibility towards the safety of girls and women. She wrote, “A young girl’s life is priceless. Girls go through so much, see so much, we endure… often silently. Protecting every young girl should be a matter of national priority because when society is safe for girls, they thrive, they dream, they win for themselves, for their families and for their nation.”

Lauding the Mardaani 3 trailer, she added that she was “blown away” by its impact and hoped the film would spark a wider conversation. “I only pray that we all come together as a nation to protect every girl, every woman because a society that doesn’t treat a girl well, isn’t a society at all. Let’s build a safe nation… together,” Mandhana wrote.
