Filmmaker Karan Johar recently grabbed attention after netizens noticed that he had unfollowed several celebrities on Instagram, including superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The move quickly sparked widespread speculation across social media, with many wondering whether the filmmaker had experienced a fallout with some of Bollywood’s biggest names. However, Karan has now addressed the buzz and clarified the real reason behind his decision.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Karan Johar dismissed all rumours and explained that the move was simply part of a “digital detox”. In his characteristic witty and sarcastic style, the filmmaker wrote, “It’s a DIGITAL DETOX!!!! Am unfollowing everyone to reduce my time and energy spent on the gram!!!” He further reacted to the excessive attention surrounding the matter and added, “This can’t be national news for god’s sake…please clickbait something else! This is irrelevant!”
The clarification comes after social media users were quick to speculate about Karan’s equations with various Bollywood celebrities. While many noticed that he had unfollowed Shah Rukh Khan and several other stars, fans also pointed out that Priyanka Chopra Jonas continued to remain on his following list, leading to even more online discussions and theories.
