Will Welcome To The Jungle cross Rs. 150 crore mark in its lifetime? Trade experts share their views
Welcome To The Jungle is holding well at the box office, thanks to a positive word of mouth. We spoke to experts to find out where the film goes from here and its expected lifetime collections.

Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, said, “The film will collect Rs. 160-170 crores. It won’t cross the Rs. 200 crore mark as the market is a bit crowded. Meanwhile, Alpha has overperformed. There’s also a similar-looking film this week, Dhamaal 4.”
Girish Johar agreed, “It’ll breach Rs. 150 crores. Collecting Rs. 175 crores will be difficult because Dhamaal 4 releases this Friday, followed by The Odyssey. So, the line-up is heavy. So, I feel that Rs. 150 crores is achievable.”
Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, “Welcome To The Jungle has an advantage as it’s running to very good occupancy in centres beyond metros. These are the areas which Bollywood has ignored in the recent past. We have had too many multiplex-oriented and urban-centric cinema. The audiences in tier 2 and tier 2 centres and mass pockets have been alienated by such content. The staple diet for them has always been masala, leave-your-brain-at-home kind of entertainers.”
He also remarked, “We are more focused on business generated in the national chains. A large share of the business also comes from these theatres and non-national chains. Welcome To The Jungle has tapped into that market. If you look at the business in the second week, it was great despite the release of Alpha.”
Trade analyst Atul Mohan noted, “It’s great that the film collected almost Rs. 10 crores on its second Sunday. The families have accepted the film. We have seen how the biggest of films get rejected. Meanwhile, this film has crossed the Rs. 100 crores mark.”
